AJLI Response to the Current Events in Israel

The American Jewish League for Israel stands in solidarity with the people of Israel, the State of Israel and the global Jewish community.

The American Jewish League for Israel condemns the horrific and violent attacks made by Hamas on the 7th of October and supports the State of Israel in its right to self-defense to keep her people safe.

The American Jewish League for Israel continues to support the people of Israel by connecting our alumni scholar community with on-the-ground volunteer opportunities, therapeutic support and continued online programming.

Further, we are proud to launch a new program, an AJLI Emergency Response Microgrant, empowering our alumni to launch programs in the United States and Israel that address needs generated by the recent attacks and current war in Israel.  These microgrants will empower our alumni to serve as representatives of AJLI in the community as they continue to strengthen the American Jewish community and its relationship to Israel.

Our Mission

The American Jewish League for Israel was organized in 1957 by men and women of the highest standing in American Jewish life to support the people and the State of Israel. Their philosophy, which still guides us today, is that as American Jews we need to come together regardless of political, ideological, or religious beliefs, to work for the cause that we all share – support for the State of Israel. It is independent and dedicated to keeping its members informed and involved. The American Jewish League for Israel is not connected to any political party in Israel.

Our unique University Scholarship program awards qualified American students with partial scholarship grants toward a year of study at one of Israel’s prestigious Universities. The purpose of the program is to foster Jewish spiritual and cultural values through the experience of living and studying in Israel and, at the same time, strengthen the ties that bind Jews in the United States to Jews in Israel so that upon returning to the United States, scholarship winners will be better able to communicate those ties to American Jewry.
